Oh my! I see gold on your skin Beauty is not just skin deep. The beauty of a woman can be seen in so many different ways: from her eyes, to her smile, to the way she moves. But for this collection, I'd like to share my thought about the beauty of a colored woman and how it feels to be labeled as"just"black. People with dark skin often have their beauty overlooked in a society that places an emphasis on pale complexions and lighter tones. My inspiration for this collection is about how beautiful dark-skinned women are in all their colors, tones, and shades. We'll also look at some ways that people with darker skin can find self-love when they're told they're not beautiful because they don't fit into an arbitrary standard of beauty. This is a poem for you. Your skin is brown and glowing. Your hair is black and curly. Energetic with a bright smile that is always there for me. You are lively with a depth that I can't reach. The dazzling on your skin A tint of artistry Your skin can make I feel art, it's fascinating In the depths of your skin, I feel love Love will make you feel Art makes you feel I am a painter, so I paint With a heart full of art The color of beauty Oh my! I see gold on your skin
